Project Lead

Description:

Project Leads play an essential role in LCG, ensuring our clients receive the high-quality, personalized service for which LCG has become known. Project Leads are responsible for making sure that contracted deliverables are completed on time and on budget. This role requires an individual with strong relationship-building skills who approaches complex challenges with patience and care, centered on the needs of our clients and the communities they serve.  

 

Duties:

  • Manage client projects, including managing timelines for project deliverables and project budget, and updating project management platforms.

  • Responsible for making decisions related to the implementation of contract work when the Principal is not available.

  • Review client discovery documents and update implementation plans accordingly.

  • Use LCG-branded curriculum, methodologies, and materials to create deliverables.

  • Guide project coordinators on how to complete assigned deliverables, including reviewing their work to ensure they meet the needs of the contract.

  • Elevate any issues or concerns about the contract to the principal in a timely manner.

  • Communicate with the Principal on the progress of the client project and any information that would help maintain the client relationship.

 

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of experience working in community-based program design, operations, community engagement, facilitation, data analysis, or organizational development in a social impact setting (nonprofit, for-profit, or philanthropic).

  • Available during standard business hours (9am – 5pm CST)

  • Able to work independently or in a team setting in a fast-paced environment.

  • Able to maintain positive working relationships, both internally and externally.

  • Expert problem solver, with good observational skills and high emotional intelligence.

  • Committed to the principles of empathy, active listening, and strategic thinking.

  • Experience managing small teams, including managing timelines, delegating tasks, managing budgets, and giving and receiving feedback.

  • Familiar with project management platforms such as Harvest and ClickUp

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Fluency in other languages a plus, particularly Spanish or Arabic.

  • Familiar with Google Workspace programs such as Google Sheets, Forms, and shared folders.

  • Familiar with MS 365 programs such as PowerPoint, Excel, and MS Word.

  • Consistent access to the internet and a personal computer.

Location: Chicagoland area preferred. Open to remote.

Type of Role: Independent Contractor

Compensation: $50 - $125 per hour. Average work schedule is 15 hrs/week.
